Langtang is"one of the world’s most beautiful spectacular Himalayan valley “lies north-east of capital city Kathmandu. Langtang trekking region is combination of lantang valley Himalayan Lake Gosainkund and a beautiful helambu village. Lantang is also called name of mountain, national park and river.
Gosainkund is the Himalayan Lake situates 4380m altitude from sea level. This site is a great pilgrimage for Hindus during August, when thousands come to bathe. Other helambu valley is another rural valley of this region. Tamangs and Sherpas inhabit village Helambu region offers you excellent views of Jugal Himal.
Langtang trek start from Dhunche(1950m) 4 hour drive and 118 km distance from Kathmandu valley and passes through sabru, lama hotel and you will reach langtang valley. You will see diversity of vegetation and mammals in trail and it pass through oak and rhododendron forests in Langtang national park. Langtang is avillage of Sherpa and tamang communities. You can see real rural life of those communities who live in high mountains. A little further up the valley is Kyangin Gompa, where you can stop overnight and sample the local yak cheese.
Langtang trekking varies from 5 days to two week long so you can easily able to manage your valuable time. Langtang valley trekking, langtang gosainkund trekking and helambu trekking are the common trekking route in this region.
